Supplies Online Resource > Dog RampsDog ramps can really help older dogs, smaller dogs and puppies. Dog gates are a great way to keep your dog out of trouble.Dog ramps can be a great help for older dogs to get up on to a favorite location (chair, couch, etc. (if you allow it)), to get up and down steps or small flights of stairs or to get in and out of a vehicle. Dog ramps and pet ramps are also very helpful for small dogs and puppies. Dog Gates can be a lot of help to keep your dogs seperated from kids or guests or out of some part of your house when you are out or just to keep them out of trouble. There is a great selection of high quality dog ramps and dog gates online at great prices including remote control gates, tall and extra wide swing gates and more. Dog ramps for puppies and smaller dogsWhen we first got our little beagle puppy (the size of a large guinea pig at the time), we put together a homemade dog ramp so she could get up onto an old chair that was right next to a window to look out, while we were out. This was a great help at the time. We did not usually leave her for long periods of time, but when we did have to leave, it provided a much nicer environment by allowing her to see out the window. After a while, we almost needed to replace the ramp with a dog gate to keep her out of rooms and OFF of some of the furniture :-) :-) At this stage, from puppyhood to about 2 years old, we often used a little dog gate to keep her from destroying things and jumping all over people (yes, she should have been trained better, but we were not good that way). My point here is that it can ge very helpful to have a dog gate or pet gate around when you need one. Dog ramps for older dogsSkip ahead about 12 years and our beagle was getting quite a bit older (changed from that maniac puppy to more of a layed back blood hound type) and was having quite a difficult time getting up on to her favorite places once again. We usually ended carrying her up the stairs, and often would just pick her up and put her onto her favorite locations when we saw that she wanted to get up. A good dog ramp (as opposed to our homemade ramp) would have really come in handy at that time. Now, of course, there is a huge selection of dog ramps, pet ramps, dog gates, pet gate, etc. available on the internet. I wish we would have had such easy access to these things while our beagle was still with us...
